All accommodation, meals as per itinerary (7 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 6 dinners), airport transfers when arriving and leaving within arrival/departure time window, transfers between lodges/hotels, all entries for activities included in itinerary, English-speaking guides, and services of your Tour Director. Road transfers are by comfortable air-conditioned mini-coach.
What's Not Included
International air, alcoholic and soft drinks or juices other than juice at breakfast, one dinner and two lunches, airport transfers if not arriving or departing within flight window, items of a personal nature such as laundry, phone calls, internet connections where not provided gratis by hotels, tours and entries not included in itinerary, photo fees if required. No part of the tour is refundable if a participant chooses not to take an included activity, meal or other inclusion or is unable to do so due to illness or returning home early. Note that certain activities may require a hold harmless waiver; refusal to sign such a waiver will result in a missed activity which is non-refundable.
Your reservation will be held upon receipt of the completed reservation certificate including passport information and a deposit of $524 per person. Space can be held for 72 hours via phone while documentation and deposit are sent in. Space is limited to 11 participants plus the Tour Director. Reservation material should be mailed to Nature Travel Specialists 128 Mississippi St, Dauphin Island, AL 36528. The reservation documents can also be scanned and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. *Payment for deposit and final payment can be by personal check or credit card, however a 3.4% charge will be levied if using a credit card (the amount it costs to run the card). Reservation documents can be sent to you by mail or email, or can be downloaded as a pdf file here. If you are paying by credit card please also download our credit card authorization form. Reservation material and deposit must be received no later than June 7, with final payment due by September 7.
Entry and Exit
No visa is required for US passport holders or many other countries' citizens. If you are not a US passport holder please check with the Costa Rica Consulate for Visa information. No refund will be made if you are not admitted to Costa Rica for failure to have a visa or any other reason. Your passport should be valid for 6 months beyond the return date, and have at least one blank page. There is a Departure Tax of $29 (October 2014) to be paid prior to checking in. However, some airlines included this in their ticket and will give you form to take to the departure tax counter. You cannot check in without the stamped departure form. Please check with your airline to see if this tax has been included; it can also be seen on your ticket receipt where taxes are itemized; it will not be seen as departure tax but the amount will be there preceded by a variable two letter code.
Once your deposit and reservation documents have been received you will receive additional material about Costa Rica, including weather, money, electricity and much else that will be useful in preparing for your trip. You'll also receive a suggested reading list, and customs information for your return to the US. About one month prior to departure, after final payment, you will receive a final packet with detailed itinerary, hotel list and contacts, luggage tags and other material.
